OFFICIAL VETTEL SIGNS WITH RACING POINT FOR 2021

Sebastian Vettel will provide his services to Aston Martin Racing next season, as has been announced a day after Sergio Pérez confirmed to leave the team in 2021. It puts an end to speculation about the future of the German and confirms the rumours that he has been working on this seat for a long time. The four-time world champion has signed a multi-year contract with the team.

VETTEL RACING POINT 2021 – “I’m very happy to share this news about my future and I’m proud to be riding for Aston Martin in 2021,” said Vettel in Racing Point’s announcement. “I have too much love for Formula 1 and my only motivation is to race at the front of the grid again. It will be a huge privilege to do this at Aston Martin”.

The four-time world champion says he is very impressed with Racing Point’s recent achievements. “It’s going to be a great adventure with a legendary car brand,” says Vettel. Team boss Otmar Szafnauer praises the German: “On a Saturday or Sunday he is one of the best drivers there is. I can’t wish for a better driver for this team in our new era”.

CHECO PEREZ DOESN’T DESERVE THIS

Change from average Ferrari to ‘brand new’ team
Earlier this season it was announced that this would be the last season for Ferrari for the German, he seems to have found salvation in the Aston Martin project. This is a choice he is not expected to regret, as Racing Point is performing well this season and Ferrari is disappointing.

By the way, it is not unexpected that Vettel will make the switch: there has been speculation for some time about a move to the Lawrence Stroll team. Vettel is also said to have had several meetings with team boss Otmar Szafnauer, something he previously dressed up as a pleasant ride home.
