MARKO: RENAULT COULD BEAT US IN QUALIFYING

Honda is now the best engine manufacturer in Formula 1 behind Mercedes, according to Dr Helmut Marko.
Helmut Marko expects that Renault will be able to strike back in qualifying at Monza and qualify better than Max Verstappen and Alexander Albon.
However, the Austrian does not feel any pressure from the French racing team: “They have little chance in the race.”
“Renault has done well in qualifying. They may even be above us here”, predicts Marko talking to Autosport. At Spa-Francorchamps, it could be seen that Renault improved considerably: “They found an ideal setup with regard to low downforce”. This is also very important at Monza, so it is expected that the French will continue with the good performances to Italy.
Still, Marko is not afraid of competition during the Italian Grand Prix: “In the race, they are still too weak for us. We are clearly number two behind Mercedes if you look purely at the power of the engine.”
