HAMILTON THINKS IT AT RED BULL A GOOD SECOND DRIVER IS MISSING

Lewis Hamilton holds the opinion that Max Verstappen does not benefit much from teammate Alexander Albon. Mercedes usually has two podium placements with him and Valtteri Bottas, Red Bull Racing usually has to do with Verstappen in the front only.

Hamilton to second Red Bull driver – The six-time world champion thinks the RB16 is a good car, he admits to Sky Sports, but only sees Verstappen performing. “People sometimes talk it down, but Red Bull has a really good car and Max is doing great”, says Hamilton. “Unfortunately both drivers are not there, where Valtteri and I are.”

Hamilton is referring to the consistently lower speed of Albon, who unlike Verstappen fights in the midfield and not for the podium places. “That makes it more difficult for them. I also experienced that myself when I was always the driver at the front at McLaren.”

“I didn’t have a teammate to support me, so we didn’t get enough constructor points and we couldn’t make a strategy to fight the teams we drove against. Red Bull has that and Max is more or less on his own.”
