F1 : MCLAREN PARTNERS WITH SPONSOR GULF

They were partners when the brand triumphed at Le Mans. Zak Brown can only be applauded for the business and marketing turnaround he achieved with the Woking team, which had very few sponsors in 2017 in its first year.
Gulf will sponsor McLaren in F1. McLaren confirms the agreement with the brand, known in motorsport for its iconic colour schemes, on its own website.
Both brands will join forces and that is not only reflected in Formula 1. The street- and other racing cars will also have to deal with Gulf, an oil company. McLaren is going to use the company’s fuel.
McLaren-CEO Zak Brown is happy with the deal. “We’re bringing two iconic brands together for a new, exciting partnership,” he says. “Gulf is part of McLaren’s history and known for their innovation and technical excellence in the industry, and that suits McLaren. We’re looking forward to working with them.”
Starting from the UK Grand Prix this weekend, Gulf can already be seen on the McLaren. The logo can be seen on the team clothing and also on the car.
Today, there are many sponsors including Coca-Cola, Arrow, Dufry, Dark Trace, Splunk, Dell Technologies, British American Tobacco, often present with the Velo brand, as well as Estrella Galicia 0.0, the sponsor of Carlos Sainz.
The two companies having already been linked in the past. In 1997, the McLaren, having finished second in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and first in the GT category, already wore these colors.
