F1 FERRARI JOHN ELKANN RENEWS HIS CONFIDENCE IN MATTIA BINOTTO

In an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport, F1 Ferrari president John Elkann spoke of the crisis within the Maranello team.

The current big boss of F1 Ferrari John Elkann gives Mattia Binotto a helping hand. He believes Binotto has all the skills to usher in a new winning era at Ferrari. Elkann also has complete confidence in Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz.

The fans want to win: « They suffer as much as we do, but they continue to give us a big load. That’s why it’s important to be honest with them. A long road awaits us.»

“Mattia took over the F1 Ferrari a year ago, he has all the skills and characteristics to start a new winning cycle. He was already at Ferrari when Jean Todt and Michael Schumacher were there, he knows how to win”, says Elkann to Gazzetta dello Sport.

“We are laying the foundations for building something important and sustainable and this is reflected in the contract we signed with Charles, five years, never so long in F1 Ferrari’s history. Leclerc and Sainz will go home to Maranello to be so close to the engineers, the new machine will be born with them”, continues Elkann.

John Elkann believes that the unrest around F1 Ferrari comes mainly from the outside and not the inside. This seems to reduce the chance of Mattia Binotto being pushed aside.
