QUARTARARO DOMINATES THE ANDALUCIA MOTOGP

Quartararo dominates the Andalucia MotoGP to take back-to-back victories at Jerez.
Bagnaia was on course for a safe second place and first MotoGP podium until a late engine failure on his Pramac Ducati.
That instead went to Vinales, who finally passed team-mate Rossi on the penultimate lap. Rossi then held off a closing Nakagami to claim his first podium since Austin last season.
Morbidelli was also in the podium hunt until his M1 ground to a halt on the main straight, just as happened to Rossi’s bike one week ago.
The extreme heat saw a spate of accidents and only 13 finishers, starting with Binder clipping Oliveira into a highside at turn one.
Reigning MotoGP champion Marc Marquez attempted a return to action on Saturday, just four days after surgery to plate a fractured right arm, but withdrew after qualifying.
