The Austrian Toto Wolff, boss of the Mercedes team, At 48, he reigns at the top of the premier category of motorsport, is also considered to be the big boss of the paddock.
According to Toto Wolff, becoming a world champion again is not as easy for Mercedes as everyone makes it out to be. The German racing team is doing its utmost to win the title, the team boss said in a conversation with Motorsport-Total.
Since 2014, Mercedes has managed to win all the championships in Formula 1. “If we think we only need to pick up the cup in December, in Paris, we wouldn’t have won a single championship,” Wolff said. The Austrian believes his team leaves no stones unturned to win the world title. “Not a single fibre in us thinks we already have the championship,” he added.
Wolff can understand that it is a pity that Mercedes is so dominant. However, it is part of the sport, he adds. “Dominance, whether from Ferrari, Red Bull or Mercedes, is always a bit bleak for the World Championship,” he says. “But it’s not the team’s fault that took the right steps to make the season predictable.”
For Wolff and Mercedes, there is only one goal: to do as well as possible every weekend. “We can’t do anything else. That’s up to the competition,” he concluded.
