MONTEZEMOLO: FERRARI’S PROBLEM LIES WITH THE CAR

Former Ferrari president Luca Di Montezemolo had strong words about the situation Scuderia Ferrari has been going through since the start of the 2020 F1 season.
Luca di Montezemolo, the former president of Ferrari, says that he looks with pain at the Scuderia. The team is doing particularly badly during the first three races of the new Formula 1 season.
It hurts Luca di Montezemolo to see how badly things are going at Scuderia Ferrari. But the former president of the Italian car manufacturer believes that Ferrari can not appoint anyone but itself as the instigator of the problem.
The right hand of the late Enzo Ferrari argues that the team from Maranello created all the difficulties themselves. “The problem at Ferrari is not with the drivers, but with the car. A new nose or wing won’t make the difference, especially when racing every week. It’s mainly up to the organization within the team,” Di Montezemolo said on radio program Gr Parlamento.
“It is an exaggeration to do a complete reorganization, but it is due to the organization how the team is doing at the moment. The leadership has to make bold decisions if it is to succeed. If the car isn’t improved significantly soon, next year will be even worse than it is now”.
Di Montezemolo can’t get his head around the fact that Ferrari opted so early in the season to make the break with Sebastian Vettel known to the world. I would never have done that, the pressure on (Charles, ed.) Leclerc is now going to be enormous. And no matter how good he is, Leclerc has only been riding for the team for a year and hasn’t won a championship yet’, the Italian concludes.
