SEBASTIAN VETTEL : THAT WAS MUCH BETTER FROM FERRARI

The German feels satisfied after a qualifying session which saw Scuderia place for the first time in the season its two cars in Q3
That was much better from Ferrari, wasn’t it? After two back to back dismal qualifying sessions in Austria, Ferrari looked a different side in Hungary. This time around, both drivers Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc managed to clear Q2 and will start tomorrow’s race in P5 and P6 respectively.
It looked like the upgrades they had brought in for the Styrian Grand Prix came through. The 4-times world champion was happy with the car today, unlike the previous two weekends. After wrapping up his qualifying session, Sebastian Vettel dissected his performance on the team radio.
Sebastian Vettel claims that the new front wing makes the SF1000 a lot better now
The German gave an honest assessment of his performance and even told the team on which part of the track he could improve on. He said, “I lost a bit on turn 1 because there was a bit of drizzle on the track, so 1 and 2 was not ideal afterwards, ok?”
After getting the order to head back to the pits, he breathed a sigh of relief before adding, “We reacted a bit late with the front wing but the car was a lot better now. That’s it.”
After a much-improved performance in qualifying, finishing ahead of both Red Bulls and McLarens, Vettel will know that a chance for a podium finish is in sight. His teammate Leclerc has already been on the podium this season, now the German will be hoping he gets a shot at popping the champagne.
On a track that’s not as power-hungry as Austria, this will be a great chance for Ferrari to gain a solid number of points and move up the Constructor’s championship table. They currently stand in 5th position with only 19 points after the first two races.
A podium finish won’t be easy, but there are encouraging signs of improvement. Ferrari will know that they will have to put in a near-flawless performance tomorrow, and will also be hoping for some luck to go their way. After a double DNF last weekend, you’d probably think that they are due some good luck.
Can they put their woes behind them? Is it possible for Leclerc and Vettel to stay out of each other’s way? Can they bag another podium tomorrow? All will be answered, come Sunday.
