FLAVIO BRIATORE : FERRARI IS MISSING A COMMANDER

As a former F1 manager Flavio Briatore He was familiar with the circus environment and certainly had profitable and interesting relationships that enabled him to express himself with a certain knowledge of the context of what was happening. Also about what is happening in the world Ferrari after the defeat on Sunday.
Ferrari should have given their drivers a million euro deduction from their salary, says Flavio Briatore. The former Renault team boss told Corriere dello Sport that the Italians are missing a driver leader and significant changes are needed. They must now focus on 2022 since the next two seasons are as good as lost.
Briatore is furious: not only about the performance of Charles Leclerc and Sebastian Vettel but also about the choices made by the team’s management. “Ferrari is missing a commander. It is a team of young people, and many mistakes are being made,” says the Italian businessman.
The Italian was frothing about the crash during the Styrian GP: “These guys have to respect the work of the team. I would have given them a hefty fine of five to ten percent of their salary. You have to hit the drivers in their pockets, that’s the only option.”

Briatore believes there is no hope of improvement in the next two years. He has no doubts that a new strategy will take a little longer than most Italians like. “If I were Mattia Binotto, I would give up on this year as well as the next. I don’t have to think about that for a second,” the Italian added.
The Scuderia is going through a dramatic opening to the 2020 season. After two races, the Italian team is in fifth place in the championship with 19 points. Midfield outfits McLaren and Racing Point have already passed the ‘top team’, and reigning champion Mercedes has already won 80 points.
