Formula 1 1996 world champion, Damon Hill shared his thoughts on career prospects of four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel.
According to the British, the German should not stay in Formula 1 after 2020. Damon Hill is very curious about Sebastian Vettel’s future.
Now that it is known that the four-time champion will leave Ferrari at the end of the season, the Brit thinks that Vettel has little to look for in Formula 1. It will not get much better than now, Hill said.
“Vettel’s situation is quite worrying,” said the 1996 World Champion. “When you’re at the top, things can only go downhill. It is said that he may go to Renault or Aston Martin, but why would he do that?” Hill wonders in the Autosport Podcast.
However, the former F1 driver, who was fired by Williams after winning the world title and ended up with the slower Arrows, does not think that Vettel should race for a mid-field team. “If you do that, you no longer score points. When I made that decision, I wanted to stop immediately.”
