TOTO WOLFF APPOINTED TO ASTON MARTIN’S BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The London Stock Exchange website officially announced that a syndicate of investors led by Lawrence Stroll had acquired a 20% stake in Aston Martin Lagonda Global Holdings PLC.
Toto Wolff appointed to aston martin’s board of directors. For the world of motorsport, this news, even though it was expected, may just be more important than Britain’s exit from the European Union.
According to the latest news, starting in 2021, the Formula 1 team, known as Racing Point, will be renamed Aston Martin.
At the same time, the British sports car constructor will have his own economical interests in Lawrence Stroll’s program. He will also be assuming certain sponsorship responsibilities.
Racing Point Aston Martin intends to keep on using powertrains and transmissions manufactured by Mercedes. That makes all the more sense since Daimler owns 4% of Aston Martin. Technological cooperation should therefore be increasing between the two parties.

In addition, the recent reconciliation between Toto Wolff and Lawrence Stroll is raising many questions.
Indeed, the current Mercedes boss will soon be appointed Aston Martin’s board of directors. And according to several witnesses, this harmony between Wolff and his friend, Lawrence Stroll is not at all trivial.
Some even speak of a very likely merger between Mercedes Grand Prix and Racing Point Aston Martin in 2021.
