MARKO : THE SALARY HAMILTON DEMANDS IS BEYOND REASON

The head of the Red Bull undertaking, Helmut Marko, commented on the salary that the six time Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton claimed in order to extend his contract with Mercedes.
Marko : The salary Hamilton demands is beyond reason. Lewis Hamilton’s contract with Mercedes is expiring at the end of 2020. If the two sides repeatedly assured they want to continue working together beyond 2020, negotiations have yet to be concluded.
These discussions would stumble over the future salary that Hamilton is to receive starting from the 2021 season. The Briton is certainly demanding a significant remuneration at the very least!
–HAMILTON HAS SOME WEAK POINTS SAY ALONSO
According to the Corriere dello Sport, Hamilton is claiming an outrageous salary of 60 million euros per year, with in return the commitment to become ambassador for Mercedes after his retirement.
“Lewis is a six-time world champion and very important for Mercedes in terms of both sport and marketing” comments Helmut Marko, the manager of the Red Bull undertaking, in remarks delivered by Auto Bild.
“I think he is aware of his value, and that is why he pushes towards certain requests. I believe that no team, not even Mercedes, will be willing to spend such sums on a driver. Or maybe only Ferrari..”
