IS FERRARI 2020 ALREADY IN DOUBT?

It is rumored that the future Ferrari F1 of 2020, codenamed “Project 671”, will not fully satisfy the engineers at Maranello within the starting month of the winter trials.

Is Ferrari 2020 already in doubt?. Several German and Italian media platforms have suggested these last few days that the first tests conducted in the wind tunnel by the Scuderia could uncover a serious aerodynamic issue on its 2020 car.

According to our fellow comrades at Autobild, an inside source at the Prancing Horse manufacturer suggested that the data collected during these tests would have been “worse than expected”.

When you’re aware of the importance of the groundwork done at the factory, such news, if it came to be confirmed, would not necessarily do well for the business of the Italian holding. Considering that the length of the trials on the track was reduced this season.

2020 certainly is a new opportunity that shouldn’t to be missed for Ferrari to vacillate Mercedes from its pedestal before the technical transition of 2021.

After the failed attempts of 2017 and 2018, the previous season had witnessed Scuderia take over the Silver Arrows in terms of engine performance but failed to lead the trial’s success into the championship.

Although considered the fastest machine on the set, the SF90 was sometimes capricious, lacking speed in curves, and suspected to not be as competitive as needed on several points that we detail here and there.

The Barcelona pre-season trials, which will take place from 19 to 21 and then from 26 to 28 February (six days) will provide a first indication of the level of strength involved although the real hierarchy will not really begin to show until the Australian Grand Prix, mid-March.
