ON THE ROAD TO CANCELLING THE CHINESE 2020 GP

VIETNAM : THE QUARANTINE TO TRAVELLERS FROM CHINA, SOUTH KOREA, ITALY AND IRAN

The coronavirus which is currently spreading in several cities in China would threaten the good performance of the Formula 1 Grand Prix, which is to be held in Shanghai next April.

On the road to cancelling the Chinese 2020 GP : The coronavirus. Emerged on the Wuhan market in early December, the coronavirus has already ended 26 lives in China. The number of people who are infected is now confirmed to be 830, and of suspected cases, it exceeds a thousand.

Several Chinese cities have taken quarantine measures these last few days, including that of Wuhan, but also Huanggang, Ezhou and Xianning. In total, there are now more than 40 million Chinese people that are confined to 13 communes within the country.

At the same time, the Chinese Automobile Federation has decided to cancel all the trials in the land until April. It is raising serious doubts about the holding of the Chinese Grand Prix of Formula 1.

“We banned all competitions until April. This is part of efforts to prevent and control the outbreak of this deadly and rapidly mutating virus, “the federation said in a statement.

THE CORONAVIRUS

The fourth race in the F1 2020 calendar, the Chinese Grand Prix is due to take place April 19 in the megalopolis of Shanghai, located some 800 kilometers east of Wuhan, where the coronavirus appeared.
