BRIATORE VERSTAPPEN MUST LEARN TO KEEP HIS MOUTH SHUT

Flavio Briatore offered valuable advice to Max Verstappen, who will be competing in his sixth season in Formula 1 this year.

Former team manager of Renault F1 Team, Flavio Briatore confessed appreciating Max Verstappen but believes that the Dutch driver should sometimes learn to “keep his mouth shut” when being interviewed.

Last year, Verstappen made an impression several times in interviews. In particular, he had openly declared in Mexico City that he had not lifted a finger in qualifications when a double yellow flag was waved, which notably cost him his pole position.

And after the underperformance achieved by Scuderia Ferrari in Austin, the Red Bull driver went straight to the squadre by letting lose in the interviews area: “This happens when you stop cheating. “

“It’s good to see that Max has renewed his contract with Red Bull. He drives really fast, he knows how to constantly improve himself and he often steals the show” announced Briatore in an interview with the Italian magazine Autosprint.

“But Max must also learn to shut it. Last year, he could have left out the accusation that they cheated. First of all, it’s not up to him to make those sorts of statements. Secondly, the whole story was totally inaccurate.”
