Mark Webber thinks that Charles Leclerc and Sebastian Vettel can lead Ferrari to win the constructors’ championship in Formula One in 2020. However, he has reservations that anyone can prevent Lewis Hamilton from equalling Michael Schumacher’s record of seven drivers’ titles.

Mark Webber predicts that Ferrari can win the constructors’ championship in F1 2020 with Leclerc and Vettel’s partnership. However, he thinks Hamilton will match Schumacher’s seven titles and hold off challenges from Leclerc and Verstappen.

In the 2019 F1 season, Ferrari trailed Mercedes by 235 points in the constructors’ standings. However, towards the latter part of the season, they began to close the gap in pace, particularly after Mercedes’ dominant start that saw them win the first eight Grands Prix of the year, with five consecutive one-twos.

Although there are questions about whether the scrutiny over Ferrari’s mid-season pace improvement will persist in 2020, and uncertainties regarding the relationship between Vettel and Leclerc, Webber still believes that the two drivers can make a great team and achieve good results for Ferrari.

Webber anticipates that in individual races, Hamilton will successfully fend off challenges from Leclerc and Verstappen, just as he has done in the past.

Webber told Formule 1, “At the very least, Charles Leclerc and Sebastian Vettel can consistently score points for Ferrari.”

Webber also stated, “Ferrari may have a good chance of winning the constructors’ championship, but I believe that over the entire season, Lewis Hamilton will still demonstrate his dominance in the driver’s championship.”

Webber added, “We don’t even need to discuss Verstappen anymore, he’s already a household name, and he’s in incredible form!”

According to Webber, he is looking forward to witnessing Hamilton’s pursuit of matching Michael Schumacher’s seven world championships by 2020, as well as competing against Leclerc and Verstappen.
